Mom’s Time Out

Mom, need a break to do some shopping or run errands? This program will offer you a chance to get your little one active and socializing while you get some things done. Winter Wildlife

What happens to our furry and feathered friends once the cold winds blow and snow starts to fall? Come join us for this indoor/outdoor class dedicated to nature, animals and our environment. Each week we will focus on a different population of animals while we learn and explore their winter habitats, food sources and survival techniques. Dress warm as much of our learning will take place outside the community center as we look for tracks, winter homes, and signs of our animal friends! This is a drop-off class.

Take Me to the Zoo, Too

Science Extravaganza

Does your child want to experiment like a mad scientist? This is just the class for him or her. Run and Fun

Does your child need to run off a little extra steam in the afternoons? Send them to the Park District and let us get the job done. Each week your child will join us for an exercise session that is guaranteed to get them worn out. Activities are sure to include all of your child’s favorite gym games, relay and scooter races, sports, parachute and balls galore. Children will also be learning good sportsmanship, sharing, and taking turns. Bring a friend to add to the fun. This is a drop-off class. No class 1/16 and 2/20.

Crazy Concoctions

Kindergarten readiness skills will be addressed during every class, while we delve further into unique topics than time allows in the regular class. The long winter months can easily lead to boredom or restlessness. Alleviate any creative dormancy with a funfilled Young Rembrandts class! We begin the season with a lesson that teaches our students about shape recognition as they create a colorful pattern using basic geometric shapes. Winter-themed lessons like our snow dome and ice skate drawings will excite the imagination. Come for open play at the Community Center Gym. During this unstructured play, children can socialize through group and parallel play. This is the perfect time for you and your child to meet your friends or make some new ones. This is a drop-in program. No advanced registration is necessary. Kindermusik
Kindermusik is a fun way to bond with your child while improving their emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development. Kindermusik classes go a long way in enhancing your child’s development! Kindermusik was the only childhood program that was proven to increase a child’s creativity and intelligence in studies at the University of Houston. These results were published in the prestigious Journal of Developmental Psychology and can be viewed at the website listed below. This program is run by Lisa Sadowski, who is a caring, creative and licensed award winning educator. Questions? At Home Materials ($70), which reinforce family learning outside of class, are an essential part of the class. Family Time Class

This class uses the Montessori method of mentoring and multi-aged classroom education for maximum learning for both younger and older children. All ages will learn musical appreciation and beat, while developing their fine and gross motor skills, socialization, emotional and creative development. All of the traditional activities are from the Our Time classes, such as instrument play, dancing, story time, bubbles, parachute and more. This is a great way to bond with your entire family. There is a new theme every semester.

Super Snow Days

Does your family get cabin fever during the long, cold and dark days of winter? Perfectly Puppets
