Vacation Cruisers

Let your child’s imagination travel as they go on a “vacation” every week. Sunny summer destinations will welcome your child as they take a trip to places like Florida, California, Hawaii, and Mexico. Using their imagination, maps, globes, stories, and more, children will enjoy their weekly getaways. A small lunch, dessert, and with a drink will be served each week with regional child friendly cuisine. Every week your child will come home with a summer vacation souvenir that they have created. Under the Sea

Each week we will dive deep down in the ocean to visit all of our sea creature friends. Along our journey we are sure to swim with the dolphins and whales, enjoy the company of the crabs and starfish, and explore all the beautiful fish and other animals that we may not know about yet. Children will learn about different sea animal families through educational and creative materials. Craft, song, books, toys, and imaginative play will be part of every class. Children will bring home a finished piece of artwork and information about the sea creatures that they studied.

ABC Artists

Every week your child will be introduced to the wonderful world of alphabet letters. We will learn through puzzles, books, hands-on activities, songs, and crafts. During class, your child will make an artistic creation with the letter(s) of the week. This class will be fun, educational, and crafty all revolving around an alphabet adventure. Wacky Water Fun
4-6 years
During the hot summer days, a fun run through the sprinkler is sure to feel great. Have your child join us each week as we spend an afternoon playing in the park. Children should wear their swimsuit or clothes to get wet. Be sure to put on their sunscreen. Each week after we’ve built up a sweat from games and playing, we will cool off with water, squirt guns, water balloons, bubbles, and more! A small snack and juice will be served. Send your child with a beach towel as they are sure to come home happily wet and tired! This is a drop-off class.

Crazy Concoctions

Wacky and wild is what your child will be when he or she joins us every week to make fun and creative concoctions. Through measurement, pouring, mixing and more, we will see what we can discover. This class is part science and part craft. Some projects include homemade play-doh, paints, volcanoes, and more. Dress to get messy and have a friend sign up to share the fun. Nature Lover’s Club

This class is back after rave reviews last year. We’ve added a half an hour to really enjoy all the nature surrounding us. Come take advantage of all that the Park District properties have to offer. Did you know we could frog hunt, hike, explore and play right here at Cook Park? Each week we will focus on an outdoor nature theme at one of the local parks. A list of locations will be given out during the first class. During this class we will interact with nature, record and sketch in our handmade journal, make a craft, and play outside. Young Rembrandts Preschool Drawing

Sweep away summer boredom with artistic fun at Young Rembrandts. Young Rembrandts provides an engaging, creative environment where your child will learn how to draw and strengthen his or her art skills. During the month of June, our students will have fun on the farm as they create barnyard images. Cute pigs, a colorful tractor and adorable sheep are some of the drawings they will illustrate. Kindergarten Kick Off Camp
Entering Kindergarten in Fall 2012
Is your child starting Kindergarten in the fall? If so, this is the camp for them! We will be practicing skills in fun and exciting ways to prepare them for their Kindergarten experience. Each day will be a new adventure with books, projects and games. Educational topics to be covered include: colors & shapes, letters, numbers, rhyming & sounds, science & cooking. We will even try our hand in the kitchen. Each day children will come home with finished projects to reinforce the covered skills. On Friday, children will take home a learning packet filled with activities based on that week’s lesson. This is a great way to keep your child practicing their school work. This parent and tot class will take you on an exciting natural adventure each week with MISS IRENE. We will learn camp songs, learn about nature, and enjoy theme days. Our hikes will be at different locations throughout the area. Possible locations could take us to the Volo Bog, Moraine Hills State Park, Lakewood Forest preserve and many others! Join us for some creative fun as well as some great outdoor exercise! Children should be walking or in a baby backpack. Some trails may not be stroller friendly. Older siblings are welcome! Zoo Train Musical Camp
