As We Grow Preschool

“We’ve been bringing our daughter (now 5) for activities since she was a year old. Everyone, from the directors, the staff, and–of course–the teachers, have been terrific . I recommend the Park District programs and preschool all the time.” -Patron

Preschool

Our preschool program is intended to help stimulate your child’s social, emotional, and creative development. Our program emphasizes socialization and learning through play.  Classroom activities encourage problem solving, creativity, self-expression, and academics.  This enables children to explore in a room filled with warmth, affection, and respect for others. It is the preschool environment where children learn to respect the authority of adults other than their parents.  Friendship, sharing, and cooperation are modeled and practiced on a daily basis. The children participate in all types of learning including art, music, creative play, cooking, literature and science.  Through carpet time, direct instruction, hands-on learning and free-time activities, the children are exposed to a curriculum that enhances their creativity and also provides a positive atmosphere for learning.

Eligibility

Children must be the proper age as of September 1st (December 1st for Pre-K) and must be toilet trained if enrolled in the 3, 4, or Pre-K program.  All participant information forms will be emailed or available on the park district website in early August and must be turned into the Community Center front desk by Tuesday, September 5th. Paper forms will also be available at the Community Center front desk. Medical forms will be due no later than October  9th.

School Calendar and Payment Schedule

Our preschool runs from Mid-September through Mid-May.  A detailed calendar will be given out during the first week of school.  The registration payment which holds your spot is equal to one month’s tuition and is used to pay the May tuition. No refunds are given for the registration payment should you withdraw from the program.  All payments are monthly and are due on the first of each month.  Payments not received by the 7th of the month will be charged a late fee of $15.  Enrollment in the automatic payment program can be completed with the form found in participant information packet.
